What Do Plants Need Ripe Fruits for?

The students will search for starch in chestnuts. They will also examine how much starch there is in riper and less ripe apples – the result of the examination will show them which apples are the ripest and which are the least ripe.

A few chestnuts as well as riper and less ripe apples for each student, potato starch, a knife, and Lugol’s solution.
